Get Involved
"In July 1991, when I started volunteering at Everybody Rides, my life changed. When I see people get out of wheelchairs and on their horses I get a tremendous sense of satisfaction, knowing that I have, in a small way, contributed to their success and pleasure. My difficulties are paltry in comparison to our riders. Their determination inspires me."

Volunteers are the foundation of Everybody Rides. With our small staff of five we depend on volunteers. Their extraordinary dedication of energy, time and resources makes the dream of riding a horse a reality at Everybody Rides.
You don't have to know a lot about horses to be a volunteer but if you want to learn we will teach you. There are also many volunteer jobs that have nothing to do with the horses.
Volunteer Opportunities
Class Volunteers
Class volunteers help get the horse ready for lessons, lead or sidewalk during class, and put the horse away. They may help with other activities as well. Class volunteers must be able to commit to at least two hours a week for one eight week session.
Office Volunteers
Help with the Newsletter, filing, greet riders and families, keep track of rider attendance and volunteer hours, and help answer the telephone.
Barn Volunteers
Help take care of the horses. They clean tack, clean stalls, help brush, feed and turn out the horses. Most volunteers like to help with the care of the horses because it's a good way to get close to them.
"These riders remind me to enjoy every minute. There is no worry about what happened before or what will happen later. The pleasure of the sensation or the joy of accomplishment achieved on horseback is seen on their faces and shared with all."
"Everybody Rides is that place where I truly do receive more than I could ever give. I want to encourage you to give it a try and see for yourself. Give yourself the gift of becoming part of the loving circle of horse, rider, instructor and volunteer."

Carpentry and Maintenance Volunteers
Clear trails, maintain pastures, paint, and build. Day of Caring is a huge event at Everybody Rides. Our carpentry and maintenance volunteers have built all the run-in sheds, the outdoor arena, tack room, hay room, remodeled the office, built the display case, and painted the gallery floor. This year they are building a tractor storage barn. At Everybody Rides, we are always clearing trails!
Special Events
Volunteers help with Special Olympics, our yearly garage sale, Ride-a-Thon, demonstrations at horse shows and parades, our open house and fund raisers. This is another opportunity that almost everyone wants to be part of because our special events are so much fun!
Board of Directors
Everybody Rides is actively recruiting Board members with a variety of skills. As we grow, so does our need for professional and business expertise. If you are interested in governance, have good ideas, and want to help lead Everybody Rides into the future, this may be the volunteer job for you.
If you have an interest and the desire to become involved we will find a way for you to help. Your special talents and skills will be appreciated and encouraged.
